Tables showing lists of members (such as Member List) support column and default sort selection using views. Multiple views can be defined for use on tables and matching CSV downloads.
A view defines a list of fields and default sort order for display. Once defined a view can be temporarily applied to a table or set as default for future visits.
The system defines a standard read-only default view. This includes all fields* on the member form plus system fields such as a member's expiry date and their membership state. Members are always displayed in last name and first name order.
A custom view can display many additional fields not present in the system default view.
The system default view must be used when Importing Members.
* Accept Terms fields only appear in custom views
Views are created, amended and deleted using the More / Change View/Columns function on the Member List page.
To create a new view click Add View, enter a name, then amend fields and sort followed by Save.
Click Use as my Default to make the selected view the new default for all member tables and Show View to refresh the current page using the selected view.
CSV downloads will use the same columns and sort order as the selected view.
When editing the view use to add new fields, and to change order and to remove the selected field.
Clicking displays fields available for selection in the following groups:
Click a field name to view its description and to add to the list of fields in the view.
Default Sort defines the default order that members are displayed within tables and CSV downloads.
Use (descending) and (ascending) to change the direction of sort.
Click a field name or -- select -- to choose a different field.
By default member profile pages have a summary display showing basic membership fields and a details display showing the same fields as the System Default Member View.
Any fields visible to the signed in administrator from a directory will also be shown on the summary. See Member Directories
All fields in the default view are included in the details display in addition to form and system fields.
