BACS payments can be accepted at the time of joining but standing orders should be payable from 1st April annually. Membership year starts annually in April.
Full membership is available to any warranted special constable in the UK. Retiring special constables are entitled to change their membership class to 'retired'. Anyone with an interest in policing may apply for associate membership status. Associate status carries no voting rights but an entitlement to receive and participate in all other ASCO activities.
ASCO succeeds because of the participation and involvement of special constabulary officers volunteering at all levels and ranks.
