The Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) is the only UK-wide club where 8-16 year olds can participate in real archaeology and discover why it matters. If you want to become a professional archaeologist in the future or just feel like taking up an amazing new hobby, YAC is the right place for you!
We want the exciting and fun activities of the Young Archaeologists' Club to be available to more young people across Wales. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we've learned lots about online sessions and how to explore lots of different themes and topics in archaeology in a digital environment.
This group is designed to connect you with history, archaeology, and heritage - and with other people who are just as interested in those things as you! We will meet monthly online, with a range of subjects from Roman festivals to forensic science. Sometimes we'll be joined by archaeologists and other people who work alongside them, and sometimes we'll be setting you challenges and tasks to do while we're online so we can create and explore together.
Joining the group is just like joining one of our "in-person" YAC groups - we will send you a digital membership pack, and if you share your address you will also recieve our YAC pass, which gives you special offers when visiting at museums, historic houses, and other heritage sites across the UK! For more details on this see the YAC website: https://www.yac-uk.org/news/launching-the-new-yac-pass--2021-23
