Welcome to a new Newf working group in the Midlands! We are a group of Newfoundland dog owners who love spending time and having fun with our dogs. Those of us that have Newfs and already work with them know how special that experience is. Those that are just finding out about the breed and want to experience what they were bred for, then we can help.
We are a group dedicated to nurturing the breed's natural working instincts in a safe, inclusive and fun environment. Our mission is to:
We value enthusiasm over perfection, participation over performance, and teamwork above all. Our focus is always on building a kind, knowledgeable, and committed community that celebrates every member's journey with their dog.
We spend the spring and summer working with our dogs in the water, and autumn and winter we focus on obedience and draught (cart) work. You can decide how much you want to be involved; you can simply come to training sessions and have a good time or work towards standardised tests for both water and draught, get involved with how the group runs and even get involved with the wider Newfie community across the country. The group is a sociable one and are keen to have fun both with the dogs and their humans, and all are welcome.
If this sounds like the type of group you would like to be part of then please get in touch. You are welcome to come and join us as a guest for 3 sessions to see if it really is for you and then we would ask that you become a member. If you already know that this is where you want to spend your weekends, then please go ahead and complete the membership form.
Look forward to seeing you soon
