The workshops are currently open Monday – Friday for members (tech support available Monday to Wednesday). We have introduced a number of measures to make sure that we are COVID-secure. Our priority is making sure that members feel safe when using the workshops. Welcome to West Yorkshire Print Workshop! We are a friendly community of artists and printmakers. Our studios are light, bright and fully equipped for paper and textile screen printing, etching and other intaglio processes such as photo-etching and photopolymer gravure, relief printing processes such as linocut and woodcut, photo-plate and plywood lithography, monoprint, collagraph and letterpress. Anyone can become a member, (even if you don't need to print here - there are tons of other benefits), and we offer a welcoming creative space for all skill levels.
We advise that you attend one of our day or weekend print courses before joining. (Sign up for membership within one month of attending a course and get a £5 discount!)
If you have some recent experience of printmaking and have a good working knowledge of the technique you want to practice, you can sign up for membership today. You'll need to tell us a bit about your experience when you fill in the membership signup form.
If you're not sure about the best route to take, please give us a call and we'll be happy to advise. It may be that you need to update your skills or build your confidence by attending a course or some bespoke tuition before using the studios, or you may just want to make sure you book your first few sessions on a day when our technician is around. Going it alone in the print rooms for the first time can be a big step and we're here to make sure members feel welcome and supported.

Once you have signed up for membership online, you will need to get in touch with our technician to arrange your induction session. Either give us a call on 01924 497646 or email kate@wypw.org. Inductions are supported sessions in a particular technique which last 2-3 hours and cover health and safety, workshop orientation and guidance on safe working practice. An induction fee of £15 is payable on the day, which covers the first hour of your session, in addition to your session fee. Inductions are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. If you are a renewing member and have not used the workshops for over a year, you will need a refresher induction, the fee for which is £7.50.
Please be aware that inductions are not teaching, and it is expected that members will already have a good working knowledge of the process they wish to use. If you do not have experience of printmaking but would like to learn, we would advise signing up to one of our printmaking courses first.
