Become a friend of Stromness Museum

We are unique in Orkney in that we are run entirely by a board of voluntary trustees. However, we must still pay our staff, keep the lights on and maintain the property in Alfred Street.

One of the ways we do this is through admission fees, but another very valuable way you can support us is by becoming a member of the Orkney Natural History Society Museum, a friend of Stromness Museum.

Membership benefits

Friends of Stromness Museum receive the following benefits:

• free admission to the museum
• a 50% reduction on entrance for up to four guests
• a 10% discount on purchases
• our annual newsletter
• invitation to the Private View of the Summer Exhibition
• invitation to the Winter Warmer evening
• the right to attend and vote at the AGM as a member
• eligibility for election as a Charity Trustee to become more involved in running the Museum

If you are a UK taxpayer and would like the Museum to reclaim tax on your donations, please tick the Gift Aid box on the online form. This will mean any donation is worth 25% more to us.
