Welcome to Spring Park Residents' Association

Spring Park in Shirley is located in the London Borough of Croydon and borders the London Borough of Bromley. It is predominantly a suburban residential area and has a number of parks and woodlands.

The area is well served by both primary and secondary schools and has good transport links to Croydon, West Wickham, Bromley and central London.

Spring Park Residents’ Association (SPRA) was founded in 1932 to protect and enhance the amenities of the Spring Park area, and this continues today as SPRA collaborates with other local residents’ associations and Croydon Council to develop local planning policies that reflect the character and needs of the area.

Benefits

For Full Members - i.e. those living in the SPRA area (e.g. south side of Wickham Road) we monitor planning applications and support residents where these are viewed as inappropriate or out of character.  SPRA reports defective pavements, kerbstones, streetlights and potholes and supports local groups such as Neighbourhood Watch, Friends of Millers Pond and Friends of Spring Park Wood. SPRA arranges a monthly clean-up of local green areas.

We also arrange a number of events from time to time including Shirley in Bloom, Remembrance Poppies - as well as festive lights along part of Wickham Road and a Family Quiz Trail at Christmas.

Those joining from outside the SPRA area (e.g. North Shirley (MORA), Shirley Oaks, Shrublands, West Wickham etc) will be Associate Members.  Associate members should refer to their local Residents' Association for support on planning applications, envoronmental / infrastructure issues and Police related matters.

SPRA circulates information about Shirley to residents through the website, broadcast emails, Facebook, WhatsApp and our monthly SPAN magazine.

All members (Full and Asssociate) are entitled to receive a copy of SPAN.  If you live in the SPRA area your Road Steward will deliver SPAN to you each month. If you live outside the SPRA area, we may still be able to deliver your copy but, if we can't, we'll contact you to make alternative arrangements.

If you would like to become a member of SPRA, please click on the 'Join Us' option.

Once you have registered, it is a simple process to update your details or renew your membership.
