The Sinodun Players came into being in 1948 in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, formed by Frances Curtis, a former Gaiety Girl, and after whom our coffee lounge is named. The name Sinodun is from the Norse name for the range of hills slightly to the north of the village of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, and was adopted because it included the whole area including Wallingford, the society’s eventual permanent home. We purchased the then derelict Corn Exchange in 1975 and over the years have turned it into the lovely, intimate theatre it now is. Along with our yearly panto and 4 in-house productions, we play host to travelling productions, musicians and our ever-popular film series. Come join us and experience the joys of participating in creating live theatre!
