Welcome to the membership portal of the RNARS. Our Membership management system is supported by Membermojo and is held securely in a GDPR compliant database.
From here you can sign up, sort out renewals, and manage your personal details for your RNARS membership.
If you're considering joining or having a career in the RN or other Service you'd be very welcome to join us. Just select civilian for now, and state the reasons where asked in the sign up process.
Membership of the RNARS is open to those with an interest in maritime radio (wether you already hold a amateur or other radio licence or not) especially those who have served or are serving in the:
Application through this portal does not necessarily mean membership has been granted. An approval process is usually followed and you will be informed of the outcome. Please do note that each membership is checked and scrutinised manually. Depending on the availability of committee members it can take a while, so we respectfully ask for your patience.
By clicking "Join Us / Renew" and if approved, you agree to abide by the rules of the society as published and/or amended. You understand that if elected as a member, a membership fee is due on submitting this form and thereafter on the 1st April each year. You also understand and agree that you will uphold the naval values, ethos and standards of the society and abide by any rules which may apply from host military establishments, including where the society HQ is situated.
Whilst covered by the above, and by our constitution and policies you also specificlly affirm that by requesting to join the society you are gving us your consent to hold your personal information, contact details, callsign and and associate this with your RNARS membership number. You also agree to such information being stored by our membership system under GDPR and data protection rules. You give permission for the RNARS to conduct due diligence where required to satisfy identity requirements. Where you give additional consent during sign up, some details may be made available for other members in a membership directory depending on your choices during sign up.

Please select the applicable tier of membership. Free (email only) membership is offered to anyone under 25. Under 25s are welcome to chose a full membership tier if they wish to receive a printed newsletter.
There are a number of additional membership options not shown above. These include Honorary and Life memberships and subject to qualifying criteria or being put forward by recommendation.
Life membership is available to a member once completing 30 years and then the payment of a one off lump sum membership fee. (Though an additional payment may be required in some circumstances if the member subsequently moved to a different geographical region.) Existing members who may be eligible for this option should email or write to the membership secretary for particulars.
Honorary membership is bestowed on an individual by the society, often as a thanks for or recognition of exceptional service. Recommendations for honorary membership are usually discussed and decided by the commitee, following recommendations put forward. If you think someone is deserving of honorary membership then please send your recommendations and a citation to the Membership Secretary or Secretary. Anyone may put forward someone for honorary membership and it will be considered appropriately with the Society's best interests in mind. In some instances the decision may be put to members at an AGM.
