There follows some brief details outlining the benefits of joining our club.
Weekly training run – these take place every Tuesday from John Bright School. There is no weekly fee.
Shower facilities – the club has an agreement for members to use the shower facilities and changing rooms at John Bright Leisure Centre every Tuesday night.
The Nick Beer 10km Road Race – every February the club organized the Nick Beer 10km Road Race around the Great Orme. This is a hugely successful race. We expect members to assist with the marshalling of the event as it is important in raising the profile of the club and raising funds. New members are permitted to run the race once.
Summer Relay – every August a fun team relay is organized along the North Shore promenade in Llandudno with a meal of sausage and chips afterwards.
Christmas Handicap – every December, just before Christmas we organize a handicapped short race along the North Shore promenade in Llandudno, followed by a buffet.
Club Championship (road races) – for the running season the club selects approximately 16 local races to form the championship, with your best four short and four long times to count including your best Parkrun and Marathon. This is divided into groups based on ability, so slower runners have an equal chance of winning awards we monitor the groups closely.
Club Championships (off road races) – we also have an off road championship which includes a selection of fell and trail races. As this is a new feature, members all feature in one group at present.
Insurance – members are also covered by insurance when on an activity organized by the club. We welcome both competitive and social runners.
London Marathon Place – every year we are allocated one ‘Club Place’ for the Virgin London Marathon. T
Newsletter and communication – we keep up to date with members via regular emails and Facebook. We try to avoid post as much as possible to keep our costs down.
Awards Dinner - Every January the club hosts an annual awards dinner and presentation at the Maesdu Golf Club in Llandudno. The cost of the evening is subsidised for members. A number of awards are given at the event including the prizes for the club road and off road championships. The evening includes a three course meal, entertainment and a raffle.
Club Away Day - We occasionally organize club away days. In recent years there have been trips to The Lakes, Barcelona Edinburgh as well as lots of local races. Information about future away days will be posted on the Facebook page.
Meetings - The club committee meets at least 4 times a year to discuss all club issues. If any member has any suggestion or questions they should be directed to the secretary. AGM - The AGM of the club is held in September every year. We strongly urge all members to attend, as it is members voice that form how the club operates.
As a club we are driving towards paperless membership as far as possible.
