Established in 1990, Metro Aberdeen Running Club caters for runners of all standards from recreational to international runners participating in road, hill, cross country and track running.
Structured training for our senior members takes place on Tuesday and a Thursday night. Tuesday training usually starts from the Aberdeen Sports Village on Linksfield Road and we meet in the foyer ready to run at 6.30pm. On Thursday we meet at the Hazlehead Park, Groats Road entrance car park ready to go at 6pm. Anyone new to the club is generally advised to come along to the Thursday session so that our experienced coaches can provide feedback/answer any questions they may have. Additional sessions out with the structured sessions include weekend long runs, hill runs, headtorch runs, along with a host of social events throughout the year to keep everyone entertained.
Our junior members meet on a Tuesday night at the Aberdeen Sports Village on Linksfield Road where we meet in the foyer ready to run at 6.30pm. There is a techniques/drills session on a Sunday morning for juniors at Duthie Park starting at 10am and we meet in the Riverside Drive side car park at 9.50am. Occasionally, we operate a waiting list for new junior members due to the limited track space on a Tuesday night. New junior members interested in joining us should come along to the Sunday training to discuss with our coaches or drop us email.
Our training sessions are listed on our website.
