As a MBACT Member you are playing a vital role in supporting our mission, to ensure that the canal is cherished, improved and restored for the benefit of our local community. By being a Member you are already making a difference, if however you wish to play a more active part, then we would wholeheartedly welcome you to our volunteer team. We need volunteers on all aspects of our work, whether it be administrative, promotional or, if you fancy it, working on lock restoration. We look forward to meeting you.
Information about the Trust is available on our MBACT Website. Here we have an events page which features a calendar listing Trust events during the year, and a News page. We also produce a Newsletter called Canal Connections. We would welcome articles and features for inclusion on the website, and Newsletter. Contact details are on our web site.
If you are joining and wish to pay your annual subscription by Bank Standing Order, then you will need to complete a standing order mandate form, PDF and MS Word versions are available for download at the bottom of this page. Please download, print and complete the form. It should then be returned to the Membership Secretary, Fourteen Locks Canal Centre, Cwm Lane, Newport, NP20 9GN.
If you are an existing Member and have previously set up a Bank Standing Order, then you do not need to take any further action, as your membership will be renewed automatically upon receipt of your payment. If you have previously paid with cash or cheque, and now wish to pay via Paypal or Credit or Debit Card then this can be done when renewing you membership on this portal.
If we have already received your subscription, then your Membership Cards will be attached to your confirmation email for you to print. If not they will be forwarded to you as soon as your subscription is received.
We would encourage you to check and update your membership details from time to time.
If you wish to pay by Credit or Debit Card then you can do so as part of the Checkout process when you click on the "Join Us / Renew" button on this page.
Please note that Credit and Debit card payments are handled by PayPal for us. You don't need to have a PayPal account to do this.
Just click on the black "Debit or Credit Card" button in the PayPal payment box and you will be prompted for your card details. PayPal will just process your card payment for us. It won't create a PayPal account for you.
Some of the details we have for Members, particularly families is incomplete. We would very much appreciate it if you spend a few minutes viewing your details, checking it is correct and up to date. You may now have a different postal address, or you may wish to change your membership category.
Joint and Family Memberships have a “lead” member who usually pays the subscription and to whom emails and correspondence will be sent. Other members residing at the same address are recorded by the system as linked members. This simplifies the administration process as we only have to contact one person rather than all members of a family.
A member can sign in using an email address that matches one that you have given us. Members sign in by entering their email address into the sign-in page. You will then be sent a single use, time limited clickable link in an email, to confirm that it is you.
