The London Clarion Cycle Club is one of London's oldest cycling institutions, founded in 1895. The Clarion cycling movement was itself established in 1894 by staff and readers of the Clarion newspaper, a socialist journal of the day started by Robert Blatchford.
The Clarion motto, borrowed from William Morris, is “Fellowship is Life”, thus the aim of the club is to promote goodwill and fellowship through cycling.
London Clarion is a growing cycling club with 50+ members from across the London area. We organise social rides and events for like-minded cyclists in and around the London and Home Counties as well as also organising occassional weekends away.
We welcome riders of all abilities to the Club some of our members take part in audaxes and time trials whilst many of our members just enjoy social cycling and cycle touring.
Our aim is simple - to enjoy the full spectrum of cycling activities in the company of others, from the recreational through to the competitive, both on and off the road. With experienced cyclists and newcomers alike, we share our interests, knowledge, and experience for the benefit of all in the club.
