Our vision is to "Keep the Dornoch Story Alive". Primarily, we seek to achieve our vision by running Historylinks Museum - a 5* visitor attraction in Dornoch which is 100% focused on the fascinating history of Dornoch and the surrounding area. We also run a programme of walks, talks and various workshops throughout the year and are involved in outreach work with our local care homes and schools. We also run our Young Curators Club (YCC) - a free after-school club for children in P6/S1 which meets on Wednesdays during term time.
In 2024 we opened an extension to Historylinks which has allowed us to put more of the 14,000 objects in our collection on display. We have also created a community room which is being used for a variety of functions, all in pursuit of our mission.
The charity comprises over 300 members (largely but not exclusively from the local area) paying an annual subscription fee. The members elect a board of voluntary Trustees at each Annual General Meeting who are responsible for the operation of the charity.
