Welcome to Gloucester Canoe Club

We are a friendly and inclusive local canoe club with a range of ages and Nationalities. We are very active with trips and activities most weekends. These include white water paddles, marathon racing, occasional sea paddles, surfing and touring activities throughout the year.

Our clubhouse is part of the new Gloucester Boathouse facilities at Hempsted Meadows. Together with several local rowing clubs we form a very active water sports community. This provides us a great access point to the canal, suitable for beginners to start learning and a suitable launch point for longer Marathon and touring paddles along the canal.

New paddlers of all abilities are always welcome. Whether you are new to the sport or just want to continue your particular paddling interest, do come along and meet us. If you are interested in learning to kayak please see our information sheet for more information and this will explain what this entails. Do bear in mind that a level of commitment and time is required to take up the sport, and we offer introduction sessions in spring and early summer. Please submit an enquiry form and tell us about yourself before submitting a membership form. Please note - boat storage is only available for those who can demonstrate regular attendance at, and contribution to, club activites. Storage is limited and there is often a waiting list.
