Keeping Lewes special

The Friends of Lewes is the civic society of the historic town of Lewes, and a registered charity with over 400 members. Our goal is to conserve and enhance the key aspects of the town – its history, distinctive buildings and the natural environment.

We aim to work with others to ensure that, when changes to buildings or streetscape are proposed, the unique heritage of our town is treated with care and respect. We seek to influence other bodies and agencies for the benefit of those living and working in Lewes.

We consider all planning applications affecting Lewes. We undertake, support, or help fund projects to conserve and enhance the character of the town. We organize meetings and talks on matters of interest relating to Lewes, and write and sponsor publications about the town.

Membership Fees and Status

The fees are shown in the box to the right, and membership runs for a year from the date of joining. 

You can pay online via PayPal with a debit or credit card, or from your PayPal account if you have one. Note that you do not need a PayPal account to pay with a debit or credit card. You can also select payment by cheque, BACS or Standing Order.

Your membership request will be completed immediately when paying by card or Paypal. If you elect to pay by cheque, BACS or Standing Order, your membership will be confirmed once we've received your payment.

In all cases, you will receive email confirmation of membership which will count as proof of payment.

You can check your membership status or update your details at any time by going to https://membermojo.co.uk/fol/signin, then entering your email and opening the 'Your Membership' tab at the top of the page. You can also set a password for your account if you wish.
