Farnham Astronomical Society is a local society for amateur astronomers, that aims to support and encourage the pursuit and enjoyment of astronomy both as an academic interest and as a practical hobby.
Whether you're an outright beginner or a seasoned enthusiast you'll find others in a similar position and can learn from the shared pool of knowledge and experience of the group.

We hold monthly meetings at Aldershot Cricket Club where we gather to enjoy a talk on astronomy and to socialize with fellow members in the bar area. During the winter months (and weather permitting) we aim to organise group observing evenings from a local dark-sky site. You don't need a telescope to attend. We have an active Facebook group, telescopes for loan and hire, and a lively newsletter to keep you interested and motivated to look up at the night sky. We also have an outreach programme where we share our knowledge and expertise in astronomy with the public.
Membership of the society is by annual subscription and is very affordably priced. We have discounted membership options for families and juniors, although please note that the society is aimed at adults, and junior members (under 18s) will need to be accompanied by a guardian when attending society events.
For more information about the society, please feel free to explore our website at Farnham Astronomical Society, or write to us at membership@farnham-as.co.uk
