Formed in 1995, by a group of like-minded runners, we are a friendly, local club that caters for all ages and abilities. We run in and around the market town of Easingwold in North Yorkshire, which is located between York and Thirsk.
The Club meets on Thursday evenings at 6.50pm at the Galtres Centre (YO61 3AD) on the edge of Market Square. During the lighter months we have regular away evenings in other locations, often followed by a visit to a local pub.
We also have a more informal club night on Tuesdays with runs for different abilities at 6.00pm and 7.00pm.
Membership is open to runners over 18 and junior family members over 11. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. All abilities are welcome from beginner to advanced, although ideally you need to be able to jog for around 30 minutes to participate in club sessions.
Make sure you read our Frequently Asked Questions before joining.
There is no need to be a particularly fast runner and there is no obligation to turn up every week. Many of us have work and family commitments and participate when we can. We will give you lots of support to become a better runner and keep fit as well as giving you the chance to meet new people.
Here are some of the many benefits of joining us:
Try us out first
If you don't feel like you want to make the commitment to join yet, then why not try us out? You can join us one or two Thursday nights to see if the club is for you. Training sessions are occasionally moved to accommodate races or sometimes we meet away from Easingwold. If you are attending in the winter months, please wear something reflective and bring a headtorch if possible.
If you think you might like to join us, please feel free to contact us to find out the answer any questions you may have and the best times to come and try out our club nights.
Membership Year
Our membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March. You can see the current rates on the right hand side of this page.
If you join the club between 1st October and 31st March, a reduced membership fee will apply (please choose the Half Year option if it is available). This will normally need approval before joining just to check you are selecting the most appropriate membership for you. You will be charged the England Athletics fee and then 50% of the rest of the membership fee.
If you join the club between 1st January and 28 February, you will pay a reduced fee upon renewal in April as your registration fee also covers the following England Athletics fee for the following affiliation year. Note – this does not apply to lapsed athletes or those who have changed clubs, it only applies to those being registered with England Athletics for the very first time.
If you join the club after 1st March, your membership will be rolled into the next year. New members joining and existing members renewing between 1st and 31st March will be entitled to a discount of £5.
