Welcome to DUFFIELD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION membership

The DCA is a charitable organisation raising money for the benefit of the village of Duffield. We run a membership scheme whereby households can pay a small annual donation which goes towards our work within the village.

To improve our membership process and to ensure we have up to date membership information and keep your data secure, we are using this Membermojo platform.

• Annual Membership is £5 but additional donations are welcome!

Our membership year runs from January to December. 

We are happy for you to pay by whatever method suits you best.

You can choose between:

• By Debit/Credit Card. This is the easiest option as it can be done directly through the Membermojo platform
• Regular Direct Debit - which is via GoCardless
• Bank Transfer (BACS) - you will need to set this up yourself
• Cash

Volunteering: The organisation is run and supported by volunteers to enhance our wonderful village. We are always looking for people who may like to help out in any way with our projects and activities. You can give as little or as much time as you wish. You can indicate your interests on the membership form. Add your mobile number on the membership form if you would like to join the relevant WhatsApp groups to keep up to date with our activities.

WHAT IS THE DCA?

In 1972 a group of Duffield residents formed an organisation known as the Duffield Community Association (DCA).

The Duffield Community Association is a registered charity 502399. We are non-profit making, non-political and non-religious.

Our primary aim is to enrich village life for all age and interest groups, to enhance and improve to environment we live in.

Our funds come from membership subscriptions, donations, and surplus proceeds from the annual Duffield Carnival and Fireworks events. We provide funding to Affiliate Member Organisations by contributing to projects and supporting events. We also run other events throughout the year. All are advertised in our monthly newsletter published in the Duffield Scene.

WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS DO

• Stage the village Fireworks and Carnival (7 days of activities that provide something for everyone)

• Maintain defibrillators throughout the village

• Maintain Wirksworth Road corner, Chapel Street & Millennium Rose Garden

• Plant bulbs (15000+ over the years)

• Give away plants (vegetables & bedding)

• Competitions - best front garden/hanging basket

• Christmas trees and decorations along Town Street and organise a ‘lights switch-on’ with carol singing

• A nature garden for William Gilbert School

• A mud kitchen for Duffield Meadows School

• Tents for the Scouts

• Picnic tables for Ecclesbourne School

• Lighting upgraded at the Weston Centre

• Trees for the Millenium Meadow 25th anniversary

• Clock repairs at St Alkmund’s Church & Duffield Club

• Toilet refurbishment at Ecclesbourne Valley Railway

• Storm Babet flood relief grants

and several other worthy causes
