About the Group
We’re a small group of committed preservationists based in Bristol. We own a very interesting and varied collection of vintage Bristol buses, buses that operated in Bristol and a classic half-cab London bus. You can see pictures and learn about the vehicles’ histories on our website
All the buses are maintained and either have been, or are being, restored by members throughout the year. During the rally season a variety of the Group's vehicles are driven to interesting venues by members, with other members and friends on board.
We’re always keen to hear from people who would like to join us. We’re at our base in Brislington every Sunday throughout the year unless we’re away at a rally.
We're a charity, and we rely on the generosity of our members and visitors to fund the restoration and maintenance of our buses.
Could you help us?
We're a fairly small group with quite a number of buses, so we could use a few more members.
If you live in or around the Bristol area and are interested in vintage buses, especially ex-Bristol vehicles, and would like to be involved in the maintenance, restoration and rallying of our fleet, or of any of the support activities that a Group like this needs, we'd love to hear from you.
If you have a relevant skill, that's good, but it isn't essential - many of us are enthusiastic but have no special knowledge, and some members may simply contribute by supporting us through their membership fee. You'll be very welcome either way.
Membership is open to any individual over the age of 18 years, and corporate membership is also available for companies or other organisations.
What’s in it for you?
We're hoping that all members will take some practical part in the care, maintenance and restoration of our vehicles, or in its fundraising, educational or support activities. If you can't, don't worry, your membership will still entitle you to:
Of course, like a member of any such Group, you will be invited to AGMs and entitled to vote there to select the Executive Committee that runs the Group on your behalf.
Membership rates
Yearly membership currently costs £15 for adult, £10 for under 16's or £100 per annum for Corporate membership. You can also become a life member for £250.
