Formed in 1963, the British Music Hall Society works to preserve the heritage of popular entertainment and to support current performers who will take us into the future. We are an active and diverse community of fellow enthusiasts, historians and researchers enjoying a range of social events from sausage and mash singalong suppers to formal dinners.
Your membership supports our work maintaining our extensive archive, it entitles you to attend at a reduced rate our full programme of events: talks by historians, authors and performers, our annual Variety and Music Hall ‘Day by the Sea’ in Eastbourne, our annual conference covering all things Music Hall and you receive The Call Boy our quarterly journal providing news, articles and reviews. In addition we commemorate past performers by sponsoring blue plaques and renovating neglected graves, and we have historians who are happy to answer member queries.
