Welcome to Breckland Astronomical Society

The Breckland Astronomical Society, based in the charming village of Great Ellingham, Norfolk, meets regularly at the Recreation Centre. We have an observatory at the corner of the recreation ground, which is a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site. The observatory is equipped with a computer-controlled 20-inch reflecting telescope. We’re a friendly group of people who enjoy exploring the night sky together - whether you’re completely new to astronomy or have years of experience.

Anyone can join. No experience required.

You do need:

• To be interested in astronomy
• Friendly
• Curious
• Enthusiastic

You don’t need to:

• Be an expert in telescopes, the night sky, sciences, astrophotography or optics.
• Own a telescope
