You may be interested in sailing, learning how to dinghy sail, powerboating, kayaking or just becoming a social member; our friendly club will be the perfect venue for you.
We have an active sailing section, with our sailors meeting regularly at our waterside RYA Approved Training Centre on Oddicombe Beach, where we race, train or social sail from April to September. Our sailing sessions are all about enjoyment; experienced sailors and club instructors are always on hand to offer advice and guidance to any new member. We have a fleet of single and double-handed dinghies which can all be hired for a small fee. There is space for dinghy storage parking for any member who wants to regularly sail with us, also Kayaks. Please email the club for further details.
Why not learn to dinghy sail? RYA-approved training courses are run throughout the season for both adults and juniors. Our junior section meets on Friday evenings during the summer months, where they have the bay to themselves to hone their skills. However, at present, our junior sessions are full and we have a waiting list. Please contact us if you would like to be included on this list.
We meet and socialise at our top clubhouse in St Marychurch. This is a stone’s throw from the cliff railway, which links us to Oddicombe Beach and our sailing waters. We are open Thursday & Friday evenings and at weekends and hold various social events. We have many members who are non-sailors who have joined BCSC purely for the club's friendly social atmosphere.
Please pop in for a chat if you want to see what we get up to before joining. You will find many of our members and flag officers in the top clubhouse who will be more than happy to give you information about our club. If the on-water and beach activities interest you, you will find us at our bottom clubhouse most Tuesday/Friday evenings and Sunday mornings from April. Our principal instructor Guy Hester is always on hand to discuss training and sailing opportunities.
Any new memberships will run until 29th February 2024. Winter discounted rates now apply
**A Junior Member shall be a person under the age of 18 years on the first day of the subscription year of the Club
