Welcome to Arnside Sailing Club

Arnside Sailing Club offers sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding. Our club house on the Promenade is used for social events and live music. The Club is affilated to both the RYA and Paddle UK. We are RYA a Training Centre at Killington, where we offer adult and youth sailing courses at beginner and improver levels. We offer a full programme of watersports at Arnside and run weekly club nights at Killington during the season. We have a thriving youth programme. The Club offers group paddle boarding and kayaking on the estuary at Arnside with trips to lakes, rivers and canals. We run family paddle board and kayak taster sessions and offer paddle sport lessons. The Club own Severn, a historic yacht built in Arnside in 1912.

The Club is a registered charitable incorporated organisation. (charity no 1200999)

Membership entitles you to

  1. Take part in the the wide range of water sports offered by the club in one of the country's most scenic locations. We offer a programme of social sailing with safety boat cover, racing, dinghy cruises, youth sessions and group paddle boarding and kayaking, including trips to lakes, rivers and canals.
  2. Access to  club boats, canoes and paddle boards  (subject to experience and availabilty). Use of club kayaks and paddle boards is free for members. This is an additional small yearly fee for use of club sailing dinghies.
  3. The chance to help crew on Severn our historic yacht subject to a yearly fee.
  4. Storage of boats and kayaks in our dinghy park (subject to a boat park fee, available space, craft being in good condition and being used on a regular basis)
  5. Discounts on sailing and water sports training run by the Club at Arnside and Killington
  6. Discounts on youth sessions.
  7. Take part in our weekly Club Nights at Killington on Thursday Evenings from the start of May to mid September. (small fee per session)
  8. Programme of social events in our clubhouse in the historic Old Customs House on Arnside Promenade 
  9. Discounted entry to many music concerts in our clubhouse (Members may have to pay the full price for more well known bands, especially those with a national reputation).
  10. The right to lay a mooring on the estuary at your own expense and risk.

Use of club craft is subject to experience, our terms and conditions for use of club craft and equipment and at your own risk.

The Club is a charity meaning that we can claim gift aid on any donations.

We are affiliated to both the RYA and Paddle UK and are a RYA Training Centre at Killington.

Water Sports Lesson

We offer sailing, paddle board, kayak, wind and wing surfing lessons. The Club is AALA and runs lessons for schools and groups.

Membership Year

Our membership year runs from the 1st March to February 28/29th. Members joining after 1st September will pay 50% of the annual subscription. If you join after the 15th October your membership is carried forward to the next year.
