As a charity, Aldeburgh Museum relies on support and donations to thrive and play a more active role in the community. Friends and supporters help to increase awareness of our work  year round and draw in more visitors. Our Heritage Lottery Fund grant and match funding has enabled us to carry out a complete transformation.  With your support, we can continue this momentum together with maximising the opportunities offered by our valuable education and outreach programme.

Housed in the historic Moot Hall, which has also had a complete internal makeover as part of this substantial improvement programme,  Aldeburgh Museum has an exciting future – but we can only realise this potential with your help. So please consider joining our Friends scheme,

The Scheme

There are a number of different levels available as below but all Friends will receive

• Unlimited free entry to the Museum, except for special events
• An invitation to the opening event at the start of the season
• The opportunity to join expeditions to local places of interest
• Advance notice of all special events, such as spotlight talks, temporary exhibitions and museum shop special offers
• An annual newsletter

Subscription Rates. 

Individual Friend: £15 per annum

Household: £25 per annum (membership applies to all members in the household)

Benefactor: £100 per annum minimum (or £9 per month – Direct Debit payments only)

Patron: £500 per annum minimum (or £40 per month – Direct Debit payments only)

Benefactors receive the benefits as a Friend above (which will extend to your household) plus you will receive two complimentary tickets to the opening event and the opportunity to have your name(s) on the donor board at the Museum.

As a Patron, you will enjoy the benefits of a Benefactor plus you will have a particularly close association with the Museum, including four complimentary tickets to the opening event.

When you first join as a Benefactor or Patron, you will be invited on a special tour of the Museum.

Subscriptions can be paid by credit or debit card, direct debit or cheque. Monthly subscriptions are only available to Benefactors or Patrons via Direct Debit.

We also offer Gift Memberships.  This enables you to give membership of the Friends of Aldeburgh Museum to another person or family. For details of this and to purchase please visit our online shop HERE.
