Aberystwyth Printmakers was established in 2004 by a group of artists who employ a range of printing techniques in their work.
The principle aim of the group, which currently has about 90 members, is the promotion of printmaking through talks, demonstrations and exhibitions of their work and through the provision of printmaking workshop facilities.
The group has exhibited widely throughout Wales, England and Scotland and in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and China.
Recent exhibitions include a collaboration with scientists at IBERS, Aberystwyth University On the Seashore/ Ar Lan y Mor and ‘The Miscanthus Project’, ‘Aberystwyth Printmakers in the City’ at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and Bestiary Book in collaboration with the Print Council of New Zealand.
Our print studio, located at Penrhyncoch on the IBERS Campus near Aberystwyth, has good facilities for etching, relief printing and lithography. The workshop provides bookable supervised and open workshop sessions for its members (starting at £5 for a three hour session) . The group also runs introductory workshops and classes on most printmaking techniques led by local and internationally known printmakers.
