Welcome to IFCO’s membership registration page

Since it was founded in 1981 IFCO has been an international membership-driven organisation, with an emphasis on supporting those across the globe who are directly involved in foster and kinship care for children. IFCO also connects people with care-experience from around the world. Our members are united in the vision that, if they so wish, all children in alternative care across the world should live in family-based care because this form of care offers children the best opportunity to grow and prosper.

IFCO members are divided into three categories:

  • Individual members
  • Youth members
  • Organisational members

Members aged between 14 and 29 years qualify as a youth member if they have bееn or are currently in foster or kinship care. All others are classified as individual members.

Membership fees for individuals and youths are reduced if the applicant lives in a country with a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita of less than $13,000 USD. If you are unsure about your country details see the World Bank Data here.

Organisations may also join IFCO. Membership fees are pro-rata based on the income of your organisation. IFCO’s Articles of Association give organisations three votes at IFCO AGMs.

IFCO charges a small once-off joining fee at the time that you take out your first membership (as per the details in the chart below). IFCO membership is valid for 12 months from the time you join. You will automatically receive an email renewal reminder before your membership expires.

To join IFCO family, please use this online form. It allows paying membership fees online using your PayPal account or a credit/debit bank card. Alternatively, we can send you an invoice and our bank details to send your membership fee by direct bank-to-bank transfer – please request these from IFCO Secretariat ifco@ifco.info.

If you are renewing an existing or recently expired membership, please Sign In first. Signing in does not require a password, you only need an email address which you use for your existing membership application or renewal.
